Saudi Arabia occupies most of the Arabian Peninsula. At AlUla the Nabataean tombs of Hegra stand among sandstone outcrops, kin to Petra, with walking and cycling routes nearby. Riyadh is known for its business district and the mud-brick Masmak fortress, Jeddah for the old quarter of Al-Balad beside a Red Sea coast good for diving. Inland lies the Rub al Khali desert.
