Slovakia

Slovakia lies in Central Europe and is almost entirely mountainous. The High Tatras pack sharp alpine relief with lakes and cable cars into a small range, and Jasna and Strbske Pleso work in winter. Bratislava sits on the Danube an hour from Vienna, its old town easily walked. Castles are scattered across the country — Spis, Orava — along with dozens of thermal springs.
