Cosmos Hotel in Yakutsk: New Four‑Star Center by End of 2027

0 views

Yakutsk is getting the region’s first Cosmos‑brand hotel – a 13‑storey complex with 148 rooms, views over the Lena River and a full business infrastructure. Opening is slated for late 2027.

New flagship for the hospitality sector in the Far East

Construction of the first Cosmos‑branded hotel in the Far Eastern Federal District has been reshaping Chernyshevsky Street in Yakutsk for several years. The project is led by representatives of a large tourism holding, and its completion is targeted for the end of 2027. When finished, the property will be able to host up to fifty‑thousand guests a year, marking a significant step for regional tourism.

Architectural concept and layout

The building breaks away from the usual rectangular hotel shape. Its plan resembles a triangle, with a rounded tower rising in the centre to thirteen levels. That tower rests on a two‑storey podium, which means almost every room enjoys windows facing the Lena River – a rarity for a city hotel. The total floor area exceeds nine thousand square metres, and the room count stands at 148. The mix includes standard rooms, junior suites and loft‑style suites; five of them are specially adapted for guests with reduced mobility.

What will be inside

Beyond sleeping quarters, the hotel will accommodate up to three hundred people simultaneously in its public zones. The facilities will include:

  • a business centre and conference hall for meetings and events;
  • a separate meeting room for small groups;
  • a restaurant serving local and international dishes;
  • a lobby bar where travelers can unwind after a long ride;
  • a fitness centre and a relaxation area with a sauna;
  • a parking lot for sixty cars.

All these elements are meant to provide comfort for tourists and business travellers alike, keeping them in the city centre while offering modern amenities.

Investors and partners

The construction is headed by developer СДК «Центр». The project’s founders are:

  • Корпорация «Туризм.РФ»;
  • Cosmos Hotel Group, part of the AFK "Sistema" group;
  • management company «Центр», owned by the RIK group.

Russia’s main state expertise agency has already given its approval, confirming that the project meets regulatory standards and is ready for further development.

Schedule, delays and reasons for postponement

The hotel was originally slated to open in 2026, but construction hit a few snags along the way. By July 2025, 147 of the 365 planned piles had been installed on site. One cause of the delay was archaeological work in the historic centre where the building sits. The official completion date is now set for the end of 2027.

Significance for the Far East

The opening of Cosmos in Yakutsk will be the brand’s first foothold in the Far East. According to network president Alexander Biba, the region holds high tourism potential, and creating a quality inventory of rooms is a crucial step toward unlocking it. At the 2026 St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, the company signed a cooperation agreement with the Magadan region, signalling plans for further expansion.

Today Cosmos Hotel Group operates more than 51 hotels across 31 regions of Russia. Adding a property in Yakutsk will give the chain access to a new market and provide locals and businesses with a modern hotel service that has been missing from this corner of the country.

What to expect at opening

When the doors finally swing open, Yakutsk will gain a contemporary hub for conferences, business meetings and leisure. Guests will be able to enjoy panoramic views of the Lena, while business travellers will have a convenient venue for events. For city residents it will also be a chance to see international hospitality standards materialise right at home.

In short, the Cosmos project in Yakutsk blends an ambitious architectural vision, well‑thought‑out infrastructure and a strategic investment in tourism development for the Far East. We expect the new hotel to become a bright symbol of regional growth by the end of 2027, attracting both domestic and foreign travelers.
